"There are many beautiful things in life no matter their complexity. Sometimes, I believe the opposite and curse the dull world of ugliness. Sometimes, I am simply too busy to see the world for its unique beauty. Most of the time, however, I like to put down the book, close the computer, and take in my own surroundings. What I love are not just in fantasy or somewhere far across the planet. What I love are what I see as I walk through normal streets, as I play in small parks, and as I live in my simple yet sweet home. The world I walk in — the world we walk in — is filled with many wonders.
The very ground that allows for everything to be built upon is one such wonder. Despite so many people trampling and spitting on the ground, the ground is the foundation that allows us to stand up and build our character. When I fall back down to the soil of millions of microscopic life, I can really feel that I am not alone in my falls and rebound anew with a larger power of will. The ground is also the foundation upon which we build our homes and offices upon. Beams are not the only support that hold a house up. The zoned and sold ground aids as well. We sell and 'own' the land, but do we really know its greatness?"

There is a great power in dirt. There is a great good in the soil we have and we can remedy. There is a great beauty in the ground. And thus, there are many benefits that we've come to share:
Soil is life. What you have in the front yard and back -- what you have in your house -- is beautiful stuff. Under appreciated, underestimated but great. And with good soil, you will be able to build your family garden... build a beauty able to support the foundations of life, happiness, and the world.
- Soil powers life. It allows us to stand without falling into the core of the Earth that is thousands of degrees Celsius hot. It allows us to grow, giving us a starting point for man came from the Earth, from the bacteria and years of evolution. It allows seeds to sprout, providing an anchor for the roots and nutrition for the climb to the sky. It allows birds a base to spring upon and fly with the flutter of wings. It allows shelters to be built, structures to be upheld, and food to flourish. Soil is power.
- Soil disciplines life. It is through soil that we learn the bad things, the downs of life, the dirtiest secrets, the falls -- and it is through soil that we get a stoic fatherly punch and realize that the world isn't over yet. The sky is blue when we look up with the soil supporting our backs and the world around us is still intact and continuing when the soil pushes us back up to experience the wisdom we learn, the ups of life, the 'all' in 'one', the rise and development of character. Contact with soil relieves stress and allows rest -- allows contact with the billions of life and death within the minuscule particles of brown. Contact with soil exposes us to the healthy bacteria, parasites, and viruses that will let us increase our immunity to the bad things in life and see the good with stronger eyes. We learn from the dirt and we become resistant to the dangers of this world, instead becoming happy in thrills. Soil is our greatest teacher. Soil is discipline.
- Soil inspires life. Soil develops our world and we see it through rocks, through forests, through the great mountains and catastrophes of life. Erupting volcanoes, crackling earthquakes, vicious sandstorms -- it's this lithosphere, this dirt that we stand on that is so amazing. Soil inspires. When we are little, we build sand castles on the beach and cook mud cakes out of dirt. We laugh in adventures as we run across the dirt and roll in the mud. We plant saplings in the dirt and discover earthworms and life beneath us. We want to be biologists when we see the world around us. We want to be architects when we create little mud buildings and sculptures, watching them stand in their weird figures proudly. We want to be chefs with our beautiful concoctions of soil and leaves. Soil is fun. Soil is inspiration.

"I am a person who believes in optimism and the beauty of the world, something so clearly visible when I step back to just stop and stare. The most amazing thing to me, though, when I step back and absorb the beautiful atmosphere of individual souls and bittersweet reality is the finer details of things I finally notice. It is a feeling most akin to looking everywhere for the house key only to find it right there with me in my very own pocket. There are so many precious things around us that we tend to forget and miss.
And, although everywhere, soil is one of them. When I look at the patch of flowers outside, I notice not a single one of them is the same. They're all fascinating individuals able to wave their elegant petals in the soft breezes of the wind with pride. And it's a pride shared with everyone -- the gardener, the community, and... the soil. For the soil is the same. The soil contains many organisms, much organic matter and power in its united veins. They are the dark black that the bright flower petals heavily contrast with. And they are the power that watches the flower grow from seed to baby to now. The soil is the silent supporter in the shadows that allows us main characters rock the world. The soil is our united and precious mother that allows us children to live. The soil is our foundations of greatness. And that... That by itself makes the world beautiful." -- Sheenie Wang
