Well, moving on, if you're not the bug praying for it to disappear, then the pray mantis will answer all your prayers for insect pests to disappear. They are faster than flies and will eat many of the unwanted bugs in your garden from the fly to the cricket to the lazy grasshopper, roaches, and moths.
And well if you worry about having too much of these camouflaging horrors, then you don't have to worry long. They're cannibalistic as well; the female especially known for feasting on the male during or after mating. (And as girls, we don't know if that's a bad or great way to die. Any comments, guys?)
Of course, you might want to worry a bit with these guys. They have no preferences and will eat the beautiful butterflies, useful honeybees, and hungry caterpillars -- okay, on second thought, they can eat the last one. Anyways, to a pray mantis, it doesn't matter if a bug is good or bad, as long as it's there, it's a delicious bug.
Fortunately, humans are not considered bugs by these guys and you will find you and your family let alone from their bites and sharp... hands. You'll find that these guys also eat mosquitoes so you'll get rid of the neighborhood vampires as well.
They're great bugs for the garden if you're willing to take the risk of losing some beneficial insects along with the many big bads. And while spiders do work, they rely on their spider webs. Pray mantises, on the other hand, are accomplished hunters of day and night that will get rid of all your targets in a flash.
